  • Arbory Afloat returns for its ninth edition this September with an all-out Capri theme.
  • With a fit-out designed by Emily Jamieson, cocktails curated by HQ Group’s Tom Younger, and the menu by Executive Chef James Gibson, it’s shaping up to be a highlight of the summer.
  • Reservations open from September 16th, and walk-ins from early September.

It’s that time of the year again when your Instagram feed is polluted with sunkissed beachgoers lounging on the shores of the Mediterranean, enjoying their best Euro Summer lives.

And it’s a particularly tough pill to swallow for those in Melbourne, which is why the folks at Arbory Afloat have once again decided to deliver a slice of it to the Victorian capital.

For its ninth edition, Arbory Afloat is returning with an all-new theme: the spectacular island of Capri. Oozing with Mediterranean charm, the fresh fit-out has been created by interior designer Emily Jamieson and tastefully emulates the Bay of Naples.

Complete with striped umbrellas, pastel walls, terracotta roofs, and plenty of lemon trees, it’s not just a postcard-worthy backdrop that makes Arbory Afloat Capri worth visiting. The cocktail list has also been completely rewritten by the Head of Cocktails at HQ Group, Tom Younger.

“Afloat is the kind of place you want to stay all day,” said Younger.

“Each of the cocktails is designed for all-day drinking with friends & family. This includes a dedicated spritz section, over 30 different Negronis, and a line-up of Pidapipo gelato-based frozen cocktails.”

Executive Chef James Gibson is the man behind the all-new menu, which draws inspiration from Italian coastal dining. From pizza and pasta to antipasti, panini, and seafood platters, everything is perfect for sharing.

“Simplicity is the cornerstone of Italian cuisine,” explained Gibson.

“The majority of recipes that have made Italian food famous — like pasta and all its sauces, pizza and all its toppings — are built from a handful of ingredients.”

Arbory Afloat Capri will be accepting walk-in guests from early September, with reservations opening from the 16th of next month.
