The Bon Fromage Festival of European Cheeses is returning to Sydney in a big way for 2022 to serve an almost-unbelievable amount of the world’s very finest – and most delectable – dairy products. Completely free of charge.
Hosting its first in-person event since before COVID-19, the three-day affair is set to be hosted at Sydney’s Overseas Passenger Terminal, where a table presenting 80 kilograms of everything from Comté, Cantal, Emmental, Brie, Camembert, Triple-Crème, Langres, to Pont L’Évêque, and more will be restocked every two hours. In total, the folks behind Bon Fromage expect to clear a literal tonne of the good stuff across the weekend. Which, once again, will cost you nada.
While the lineup of local experts has yet to be announced, the Bon Fromage Festival of European Cheeses 2022 will also offer a whole heap of free cheese-related masterclasses. Anyone particularly keen on ditching the Ritz cracker, Bega cubes, and prosecco combo to really learn the nuances of pairing cheese with wine, blue cheese appreciation, aesthetics, etc should keep an eye out for this one.

On the off chance this ain’t enough, however, and you’re willing to spend that hard-earned cash, there will be an opportunity to wine + dine substantially thanks to the 16 stalls and six pop-up bars floating around; as well as an opportunity to take something home thanks to the 12 elite cheesemongers on location.
We’ve said it before but just in case you still don’t believe us, here it is: from entry to the tasty samples, masterclasses to live entertainment, the Bon Fromage Festival of European Cheeses 2022 will be completely free of charge. You can get in on all the action at the Sydney Overseas Passenger Terminal’s Cargo Hall early next month from June 3rd to June 5th.
