Melbourne’s Welcome To Thornbury is hosting its fourth annual Chicken Nugget Festival in celebration of a universally beloved food item that magically transcends borders, culture, religion, tax brackets, and even politics.

With over 50,000 nugs prepared for the occasion, according to Broadsheet, an all-star lineup of vendors ranging from from Mr Burger, Maria Taqueria, to Philly Cheese Steaks have been invited along to present their inspired creations.

We’re talking vegan, teriyaki, and butter chicken nuggets on top of the time-honoured classic iteration enjoyed by a decent chunk of the population – be it at dinnertime because you don’t have your shit together, or 3 AM (also because you don’t have your shit together).

For nug enthusiasts of the highest order, Welcome To Thornbury are staging “The Nuggetthon” – a chicken nugget eating competition where 10 of the hungriest operators gorge themselves silly in pursuit of crumbed glory.

Cocktails, beers, live music + DJ sets, even nugget-themed merchandise, and of course, plenty of dipping sauces are also on the menu.

Taking place this Saturday on March 11th (12:30 PM – 6 PM), you can find out more about the Chicken Nugget Festival coming to Welcome To Thornbury, Melbourne below.
