Victoria truly is proving itself to be the food capital of Australia once again. Kyneton’s Country Cob Bakery has come up trumps for the third year running in the battle for the country’s best meat pie in the 2020 edition of Australia’s Best Pie and Pastie Competition.
In what sounds like a dream job, professional judges from the Baking Association of Australia sampled over a thousand pies from 300-plus bakeries across the country. The competition was held over three days, with Country Cob taking out the top spot with their mouthwatering pepper beef pie.
What’s even more impressive is that Country Cob owners, bakers and brothers Ryan and Chan Khun, have only been in charge of the business for the previous four years, making them the undefeated pie making champions of Oz.
In what also comes as welcome news to all Melburnians, Country Cob Bakery is offering home delivery of its best meat pie to the entire city and some regional areas from its stores in Kyneton and Boronia.
