When the summer sun really turns it on and there’s no escape from the furnace-like heat, leaving your steering wheel too hot to touch and thongs melted to the tarmac, the only solution is to wrap your laughing gear around something cool. With this in mind, the gelato geniuses and ice cream experts at Messina have announced their first advent calendar, filled with enough sweet treats to get you through December without losing your cool.
Messina has already had a busy year so far, what with the return of 40 of the gelateria’s most popular flavours and the launch of a special House Of The Dragon gelato blend just last month. As well as recently opening doors in Surfers Paradise, Messina is hurtling towards the end of the year with all gas and no brakes as 2022 is the first year that the ice creamery has offered an advent calendar to its legions of adoring fans.
For the 24 days from the beginning of December until Christmas, the Messina advent calendar will serve up two dozen different pieces of handmade chocolate, which is made in-house and is featured in all of its ice creams. You can expect everything from mini waffle cone bites and salted cashew brittle, to Messinatella biscuits and panned Panettone.

While Messina is keeping the other 20 flavours a secret to surprise you throughout December, if their track record of making mouthwatering chocolate and ice cream flavours is anything to go by, there’s no doubt that we’re in for a treat. Just make sure you keep them out of the heat, preferably in the fridge for the perfect post-work bite.
The Messina advent calendar is going on sale today, so all you need to do is select your nearest store to pick up your calendar between the 25th and 27th of November.
