The most heartbreaking cancellation in Victoria’s 2020 and 2021 calendar wasn’t the Australian Grand Prix on both counts, but the promised Maximum Chips all-you-can-eat affair scheduled for both years’ Melbourne Food & Wine Festival. This year, however, bottomless pits and carb fiends alike will be able to avenge the historic loss twice three times over.
“An epic tribute to the majestic fried potato in all its finest forms, Maximum Chips is a Friday night party that’s simply irresistible,” reads the event description.
“With all the chips you can eat: crinkle-cut, shoestring, French fry, and maybe even the sneaky potato gem – this fun and casual event does exactly what it says on the tin.”

For the low, low price of just $35, you can enjoy a welcome drink, entertainment courtesy of DJ Minx, as well as all the hot chips your overworked heart could possibly desire; accompanied by an entire range of salts, sauces, gravies, and condiments. We’ve said it once and we’ll say it again – it really is your world on this night of nights, the chips are just living in it.
“Hot chips plus great drinks equals a party. It’s finger-lickin’ good.”
Maximum Chips at the 2022 Melbourne Food & Wine Festival will be hosted at E Shed, Queen Victoria Market across two sessions: 5 PM to 7 PM and 7:45 PM to 9:45 PM (both on March 25th).
