With a sugary legacy of over 4,000 flavours sitting behind Gelato Messina, the beloved dessert brand is always in a great position to dial up the nostalgia and celebrate its success. That’s exactly what it does each year with Messina’s greatest hits, digging through the crates, so the speak, and pulling out its top 40 greatest hits.

Because everyone loves a mid-year wrap-up, so without further ado it’s about that time again for Messina’s top 40 to make its return.

As per usual, the national gelato brand, which releases 260 specials each year, will be offering 500-millilitre tubs of last year’s most popular flavours. This will be across all Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Canberra stores, although you can pre-order online if you don’t want to contend with the inevitable queues.

Pre-orders for all flavours are open now and you can pick them up in person from a list of stores that we’ve included below. Individual tubs are filled with just one flavour and are priced at $19. But you can also get three tubs for $54, five for $75, and ten for $140. If you want to push your limit, you can even grab 20 tubs for $250.

Messina has listed all 40 flavours available on its website, ranging from Fairy Bread and Robert Blondie Jr to Balls Deep and You Cannoli Live Twice. As always, these are ridiculously inventive gelato flavours, reiterating just why Messina are the kings of this game with pretty much no content (at least as far as chains go).

Some other desserts also available as part of the Messina Greatest Hits series include The Malteaser, Eton Mess, Baked Mango Cheesecake, Have a Gay Old Time, and Red Velvet.

Sydney: Marrickville, Tramsheds, Bondi, Darlinghurst, Norwest, Brighton Le Sands
Melbourne: Fitzroy, East Brunswick
Brisbane: South Brisbane
Canberra: Braddon

While pre-orders for the Messina Top 40 are now open, pick up is only between Friday, July 21st and Sunday, July 23rd at the stores listed above.
