“Do I believe that there’s a best restaurant in the world? Of course not, it’s ridiculous. But it changed our restaurant forever,” says René Redzepi, chef and co-owner of what is widely regarded as the world’s best restaurant, Noma.
Redzepi’s story has the feel of a classic fairy tale: the ugly duckling transformed into a majestic swan, who now reigns over the realm of modern gourmet cuisine. But beneath the polished surface, cracks appear in the form of old wounds. 2013 stands as the worst year in René Redzepi’s career [losing number one spot in the best restaurant rankings].
Noma: My Perfect Storm follows him as he fights his way back to the top, reinventing the Copenhagen restaurant and reclaiming the title of best restaurant in the world in 2014 for the fourth time.
Directed by Pierre Deschamps, the documentary premiered on November 15 at DOC NYC and in Australia, Umbrella Entertainment are releasing the film theatrically on February 11, 2016.
