- Cult Melbourne bathhouse & wellness centre, Sense of Self, is opening its first Sydney outpost.
- Located on the border of Paddington and Surry Hills, it’s claimed a 1,000-square-metre converted warehouse as its site; and will mark the largest facility of its kind in Sydney.
- Sense of Self Sydney is scheduled to open in the second half of 2025 (specific date: TBA).
The market for luxurious health and wellness facilities has exploded in recent years, with one of the most popular venues in Melbourne being Collingwood’s Sense of Self.
Come 2025, the bathhouse franchise is set to expand with Sense of Self Sydney.
The sprawling site will offer several mineral pools heated to a toasty 39 degrees, roomy saunas set to 80 degrees, and a 46-degree Hammam steam room. To take a break from the heat, you’ll also be able to enjoy one of the 10-degree cold plunge pools, guaranteed to bring your core temperature back down.
“Bathhouses are so much more than the sum of their parts,” said Sense Of Self Founder and Director Freya Berwick in a statement.
“They serve different functions for different people; from recovery bathing through to social connection and body acceptance, and we love catering to all of those needs.”
In line with the industrial-chic setting of the Collingwood location, Sense of Self Sydney will enjoy 1,000 square metres of converted warehouse nestled between Surry Hills and Paddington, designed by the Melbourne-based architecture firm Ritz & Ghougassian.
It promises to be the largest bathhouse in all of Sydney when doors open sometime in the second half of 2025; offering prospective guests a “space to connect with self, place and community.”
