Riding the recent tide of luxurious health and wellness spaces materialising all along Australia’s east coast, Soak Bathhouse Alexandria is officially set to open this April.
Initially announced alongside the Queensland-born franchise’s Bondi Junction outpost (which arrives later this year), this hotly-anticipated, 700sqm facility promises to deliver the award-winning rest and relaxation that’s steadily become synonymous with the Soak name.
You’ll find this mecca of tranquillity in the new $230 million Bourke & Bowden development – just four kilometres from Sydney’s CBD – where one can enjoy magnesium-rich mineral pools (34°C), hot spas (38°C), cold plunge pools (12.5°C); along with a dry cedarwood sauna and a steam room.
An infrared sauna, LED red light therapy, and of course, massages will also be available here.

In recent years, the wellness landscape certainly feels like it’s been defined by communal bathhouses. Aside from the forthcoming Bondi Junction location of Soak Bathhouse, in a few short months, cult Melbourne franchise Sense of Self will look to stake its own claim in Sydney with the city’s biggest facility of its kind.
Located on the border of Paddington and Surry Hills, Sense of Self Sydney has made itself at home in a 1,000sqm converted warehouse; and will similarly offer itself mineral pools (39°C), roomy saunas (80°C), plus Hammam steam room (46°C).
Much like Soak, you’ll also be able to bring your core temperature back down with a 10°C cold plunge. How bloody good.
