Whether you know him as Iceman or Mr Freeze, Wim Hof is a name synonymous with two health-related things: cold-water plunging and controlled breathing. The Dutch athlete and qualified health expert is responsible for popularising the niche biohacking industry in a way that has helped many people around the world feel more alive. So it’s likely going to be an easy sell-out when the man arrives down under later this year, bringing his signature Wim Hof Method to Sydney across two dates in March.

Parking up at Luna Park Sydney on Thursday, March 16 and Friday, March 17, Wim Hof will host transformative breathing sessions as part of the new Human Kind festival, which is co-headlined by the likes of MONA’s Kirsha Kaechele, OzHarvest CEO Ronni Kahn AO, comedian Reggie Watts, Aussie legend Nedd Brockmann and businessman Mark Bouris.

The god of oxygen and ice will be the big-ticket international for the three-day immersive summit, which is a not-for-profit event aimed at “reshaping our collective future” with more than 50 different world-class speakers, workshops, pitch competitions, art installations and immersive experiences.

Basically, it sounds like TEDx but you aren’t just sitting there listening to people talk. Those workshops and experiences are key, which is why the Wim Hof Method should be such a major feature of the festival, with Wim Hof taking guests through a “breathing and ice experience.”

Beats your semi-regular Wim Hof sessions in the office.

If you’re keen on attending Human Kind then note that day passes are priced at $99 while three-day passes start at $199.
