Every week, the Boss Hunting team spend far too much time scouring the web, searching for the coolest gear, drinks, and destinations in the world.
This week, we’ve got a new drop from one of our favourite Aussie distilleries, an epic pizza oven crossover and what may very well be the coolest coffee machine in the game. Plus plenty more.
Starward Botrytis Cask
Regular readers of the site will be no stranger to Melbourne-based Starward. This week they dropped their latest limited edition single malt, and it’s certainly got our attention.
Their Botrytis Cask release is aged in…you guessed it…Botrytis barrels and looks the goods. Expect notes of Danish Apricot, Orange Blossom, and Nutmeg. As is often the case with Starward’s ever-popular limited editions , you have to go into a ballot if you want a chance to drink this one.
Gozney x Hedley & Bennett
It’s no secret we’re big fans of Gozney pizza ovens here in the Boss Hunting office. If their latest model, the Arc (sized between the Roccbox and the Dome) wasn’t already hot enough (pardon the pun), then their collab with outfitter-to-culinary-stars Hedley & Bennett has taken things molten.
Ligre youn Coffee Machine
“Pure aesthetics. Highest performance. Finest Espresso” says the Ligre website — and we can definitely attest to that last bit. Pointedly designed by industrial studio Relvãokellermann to starkly contrast with the form of most coffee machines on the market these days, the Libre youn might just be the coolest looking home brewer we’ve ever seen. Whether it tastes as good as it looks, we’ll leave up to you.
Attenzione (Redfern, Sydney)
One of the most anticipated openings in Sydney this year, Attenzione in Redfern is the “Italian-ish” restaurant every foodie and his dog seems to be raving about right now.
Given my colleague Randy has already included them in our Best New Restaurants In Sydney list, I’ll just give you his synopsis — and leave you with the moderately exciting news that I’ll be dining there this Sunday. Report back next week.
Epperson Mountaineering Tote Bag
If you haven’t heard, tote bags for men are so back, baby in 2024. This number from Epperson Mountaineering is made from climbing-grade cordura nylon and looks every bit as stylish as it is durable.
Camping-core to the max, and at a digestible price point.
Fugazi Chain Splatter Denim Jacket
Yes I just told you to read Randy Lai’s coverage of Attenzione. But I’m going to do it again. On the Chain Splatter Denim Jacket by Fugazi, Randy says: “[it has] the sort of gnarly, lower-Manhattan-fuccboi aesthetic American style writers can’t seem to stop gushing about”. I couldn’t agree more. Cop.
