Every week, Boss Hunting’s editors spend far too much time scouring the web: in search of the coolest gear, food & drink, and destinations worth trekking to across the globe.
In our first ‘Good Finds’ of 2025, we’ve got Australian Open-approved kit by New Balance, an aptly serpentine Hublot chronograph celebrating the Year of the Snake and much more.

Gramicci Pigment Dyed G-Shorts
Admittedly, Gramici isn’t exactly a newcomer in the premium outdoorwear space, but the Japanese-made label has been having a real renaissance over the past two years: a favourite of genuine climbers and clued-in celebs alike.
In light of the heat and muggy weather conditions that tend to grip Australia this time of year, we’re eager to get into a pair of ‘G-Shorts’. These are available in a range of dusty (and versatile) colours — our favourite being the khaki-esque ‘herb’.
Made to the same high standard as Gramici’s full-length pants, these are cut out of robust double ring-spun cotton. Tough yet comfy, this material makes a good fit for all of the G-Short’s considered details: think lock stitching on all the seams and a gusseted crotch.
So, more than hardy enough for your next hike and/or day out at Laneway.
Hublot Spirit Of Big Bang ‘Year Of The Snake’ Edition
Limited to a worldwide edition of 88 pieces (naturally), Hublot is back at it again with the Lunar New Year-themed releases — this time celebrating the Year of the Snake.
The Chinese astrological symbol that’s traditionally most associated with “wisdom, charm and transformation,” Hublot decided to pay tribute to all things serpentine in 2025 via its Spirit of Big Bang range.
In this instance, the tonneau shaped ceramic timepiece shakes up its signature skeleton dial with a striking gold-plated snake motif; shaped so that it looks as though it is slithering between all three of the watch’s chronograph registers.
Cathay Pacific The Pier, Hong Kong (Business)
Much as I’d love to pretend that I spend a lot of time in Cathay Pacific’s global network of First Class lounges (read our The Pier, First review), as somebody with a mere oneworld Sapphire membership the reality is that my usual stomping ground at HKIA is going to be something in the J-class tier. Specifically, Cathay’s excellent ‘The Pier’ business class digs.
Soon to be the Hong Kong flag carrier’s primary business class lounge — as renovations of The Wing get under way later this year — I’m bullish, even all these years later, on this being the best product in its weight class worldwide. Only the Gulf airlines come close.
British designer Ilse Crawford’s green and tan interior palette gives the whole premises a polished, timeless look; and, beyond the obligatory shower suites and (impressively clean) napping area, you won’t find a business class lounge serving better food in the region.
Order up at the noodle bar, and park yourself window-side for a great view of all the taxiing A350s.
New Balance’s Australian Open 2025 Collection
For its second year out at the Australian Open, New Balance is serving up the ultimate activewear capsule: suited for wear on and off the proverbial hardcourt.
Tinted in shades of yellow, blue and green (i.e. the official AO colours) New Balance’s latest unisex team-up consists of a wide range of men’s and women’s product, along with a decent amount of unisex wear.
If you’re as serious about weekly doubles as you are daily fit checks, our personal highlight would be the two AO-themed 996v6 trainers: powered by New Balance’s “propulsive” FuelCell cushioning system.
Grand Slam fans will be able to shop the whole range on-site just outside of Rod Laver Arena, or, if a visit to Melbourne Park is off the cards this year via the New Balance webstore.
Franca’s $20 Burger, Fries, & Cocktail Promo
Sydneysiders hoping for a healthy Good Finds dining promo (in the spirit of dry January) are liable to be disappointed. For everybody else, Franca’s latest $20 ‘Happy Meal’ will come as welcome news: offering up sophisticated bar food at RSL-approved prices.
Basically a burger, fries, plus cocktail deal — in this case, either a classic Martini or Negroni — the Franca Happy Meal will be available on weeknights (Tuesday-Friday) until January 17th. Note that you can’t take advantage of this deal during peak dining hours, with ordering times limited between 5 PM-6 PM.
Still, a lot of bang for not very much buck.
