A generation ago, everyone knew the best way to build wealth was to buy a home, pay it off, and then buy the houses on either side as soon as you could. It would appear that Aussie actor and all-around good bloke, Guy Pearce, took this advice seriously, and after nearly three decades of ownership, he’s now selling his twin block home located at 341-343 Richardson Street, Middle Park.
Perhaps best known for his role in Memento (Christopher Nolan‘s sophomore feature-length effort), as well as L.A. Confidential and The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, Pearce’s more recent work includes Iron Man 3 and Prometheus. Despite growing up in Geelong and living in Melbourne for much of the last few decades, the Hollywood star has recently settled in Amsterdam. Hence why he’s now selling several of his Victorian homes.
Pearce originally purchased the first of the now-coupled Middle Park homes in 1995, before seizing the chance to buy the neighbouring Edwardian house when it hit the market in 2004. He also bought the property on the other side in 2017, but would offload that shortly thereafter.

After purchasing the second home in 2004, Pearce undertook a significant renovation that connected the two properties, resulting in a 748-square-metre block that’s extremely large for the area. Despite joining separate homes, the residence at 341-343 Richardson Street, Middle Park, features a relatively modest four bedrooms and two bathrooms, with the actor having opted for large open-plan living and dining spaces.
Described by the agent as an “entertainer’s oasis” and a “dream combination of indoor-outdoor connectivity,” based on what we’ve seen, we’re certainly inclined to agree. If you needed further proof that no expense was spared in the open-plan living + dining + and lounge area, the space boasts remarkable, richly textured, and remarkably heated onyx floors.
Through the double doors, it leads to a large rear garden, filled with lush native vegetation, a fire pit, and even a separate soundproof recording studio. For context, as a true multi-hyphenate creative, Pearce has released two albums in his spare time over the last few years.
Located a block away from the spectacular Albert Park Lake and the Melbourne F1 circuit, as well as being just 500 metres from the Middle Park beach, 341-343 Richardson Street enjoys one of Melbourne’s best areas. Currently seeking expressions of interest via the team at Jellis Craig, the home is offered with a price range between $8.5 million and $9.35 million.
