Former F1 champion Jenson Button might have started life in the UK, but he’s put down plenty of roots in California in recent years, with the racing driver and his former Playboy model turned interior designer wife Brittny Button purchasing several homes in the desert calm of Palm Springs. With real estate coming out of his ears in the popular Californian city, Jensen Button is selling his second home in the area for a cool US$2.5 million (AU$3.6 million).
It was only last year that the 2009 Formula 1 champion sold another home in Palm Springs, which was showcased in Architectural Digest for its tasteful renovation and refit that was designed and executed by Brittny and her interior design firm Stone & Button Design. Now, the couple has listed another Spanish-Colonial residence on the market, situated in the El Mirador suburb and featuring four bedrooms and four bathrooms across its 3,200 sqft, with well-kept gardens and a relaxing pool.
Originally designed in 1946 by the American architect John Porter Clark, a pioneer in the school of Desert Modernism and one of the minds behind the low-rise Palm Springs style we know and love today, the home also enjoys a number of Mediterranean-inspired details such as exposed timber ceiling beams, ceramic flooring and more than the odd decorative column. The listing is currently represented by the HK Lane real estate agent and has only been on the market for a week.
