For Aussie sporting fans, having Shane Warne bowling spicy spin down the length of your tennis court would have to be a holy grail moment. While the great man passed away too soon in March last year, a Brighton mansion that was once the location of one of the most epic games of backyard cricket in history has come to market, complete with its tennis court that Shane Warne once graced with his presence.

Located at 13 Park Street, Brighton, the sprawling estate enjoys a massive 2,080m² block and was once owned by the former St Kilda Football Club president Rod Butterss, who invited Warne and the players of the football club to an afternoon at his home. According to Stephen Smith of Marshall White Bayside, it was then that the legendary spin bowler started sending “flippers to the whole of the St Kilda Football Club while out on the tennis court”.

Boasting five bedrooms, five bathrooms and six car spaces, the palatial property is the epitome of private luxury thanks to its high walls resplendent marble surfaces and 1,000-bottle wine cellar. While the countless creature comforts offered by the mansion are enough to sell it by themselves, the fact that it was once the scene of Australian sporting folklore is the diamond in the crown of this blue-chip mansion. The agents are currently seeking expressions of interest with a price guide of between $14.50 million and $15.95 million.
