If your general approach to overcoming life’s challenges is to throw money at the problem, then Tinder’s upcoming subscription level could be exactly what you’ve been waiting for. Called Tinder Vault, the planned subscription service will reportedly cost users US$500 (AU$740) per month or US$5,000 (AU$7,400) per year, giving those willing to pay up a suite of possible dating services.
First reported by Fast Company in an interview with Tinder’s chief product officer, Mark Van Ryswyk, Tinder Vault aims to compete with the ultra-premium dating app The League which costs up to US$1,000 (AU$1,480) per week as it matches wealthy and ambitious singles together. The League requires an application before you sit on a waitlist while your personal profile is reviewed for suitability, so for those with more money than time, perhaps a service like Tinder Vault makes sense.
“We’re really looking at a whole range of additional value-add services to Tinder overall,” Van Ryswyk said in the interview, without revealing what any of those services might actually look like.
However, as reported by Gizmodo, screenshots leaked to Reddit offer a window into what Tinder Vault users can expect, including “Special Status” priority in others’ feeds, a “Personalized Concierge Service” giving you “24/7 expert advice” and a “Premium Passport” to meet Tinder’s “most active and influential members”.
There’s no confirmed timeframe as to when we can expect the Tinder Vault subscription to launch, but if you’ve got the best part of seven and a half grand a year burning a hole in your pocket and a dating life you aren’t satisfied with, salvation could be just around the corner.
