Succession aired its last episode nearly a year ago, but the hype around the satirical dramedy is far from over after taking home several Golden Globes and Primetime Emmy Awards.
With the quiet luxury style trend enduring into 2024 and a prop department that’s already demonstrated its chops with a white-hot line-up of watches, the Succession prop auction was always going to be good. And it certainly hasn’t disappointed.
Here are five of the wildest Succession props that sold at auction recently (with the option to make an offer to the winning bidder still available).
A Ludicrously Capacious Burberry Bag — $23,438
If there was one prop that got everyone talking, it was Bridget’s Burberry bag that not only sent Tom into conniptions, but also introduced “capacious” to the common lexicon. Whether you want to use it for camping, bank robberies, or flat shoes, it’ll cost you a pretty penny to buy it from the auction winner (a price that cements it has the most expensive Succession prop in the auction).
Roman Roy’s Funeral Speech Cards — $31,250
One of the more emotional lots in the auction is this quartet of pink index cards, which Roman referred to during the funeral of his father. Clearly, he had less to say about him than he originally thought as only three of the cards have been used.
Greg Hirsch’s Coke Bullets — $2,500
Tom and Greg sharing a bump of coke ahead of the election night might not have been on your season 4 bingo card, but these glass bullets will be a reminder forever of that scene. And before you ask: no, it’s not actual cocaine. Simply a mixture of baking soda and powdered sugar.Â
Kendall Roy’s Driver’s License & Credit Cards — $12,500
If there was ever a character’s identity you wish you could steal in the real world, Kendall Roy has to be near the top of the list. With his driver’s licence and four credit cards up for grabs, the practical part of that impossibility has never been more real.
New York Magazine Cover Featuring The Roy Family Under the Headline “The Crack Up: The Roys” — $15,000
For those after an insight into how Pantone picks the colour of the year, the best Ethiopian restaurants, or the fracturing of the billionaire Roy family, this fictitious New York Magazine cover promises to deliver everything you need for a solid Sunday afternoon read.
Please note that all prices for the Succession prop auction are in USD.
