  • Bowers & Wilkins has refreshed its Zeppelin speaker, equipping the Pro Edition with two 25mm titanium dome tweeters.
  • Five premium drivers are nestled in its iconic design.
  • It looks to be an improvement on an already acclaimed wireless speaker.

Bowers & Wilkins has been producing its Zeppelin speaker on and off for almost two decades now.

Originally released in 2007 as a speaker dock for the iPod, the speaker saw a major re-release in 2021, where it ditched the now obsolete iPod features to focus on wireless support while maintaining its iconic design. An already solid speaker, the Bowers & Wilkins is set to roll out the upgraded Zeppelin Pro Edition.

At first glance, the Zeppelin Pro Edition doesn’t look all that different from its predecessor. It shares the same blimp-like design and five-driver setup of its previous iteration, but there are a few upgrades under the hood.

Nestled inside this audio football are new dual high-frequency titanium dome tweeters (25mm) — which are mounted on the speaker’s furthest edges — along with two Fixed Suspension Transducer (FST) midrange drivers (90mm) and a subwoofer (150mm) that’s mounted in its centre.

Bowers & Wilkins has also upgraded the Zeppelin Pro Edition’s digital signal processing (DSP), to ensure you’re getting the most out of these drivers. Together, this speaker offers a richer, more detailed audio experience.

In terms of wireless connections, the Pro Edition supports Bluetooth 5.0 (aptXTM Adaptive, AAC, SBC), Apple AirPlay 2, and Spotify Connect. So all your bases are covered when it comes to streaming your music or hooking this up to your TV (provided it supports Bluetooth).

The Zeppelin Pro Edition comes in two finishes — Space Grey or Solar Gold. It also has an LED light that illuminates the speaker’s base, which can be customised with 15 colour options through the Bowers & Wilkins app.

While we don’t have an official Australian price for the Zeppelin Pro Edition yet, it’s worth noting that it shares the same US price as the standard version: US$799. The standard Zeppelin retails for $1,199 here in Australia, so it’d be a fair guess that the Pro model would be around — if not exactly — the same price.
