For photography fans around the world, there’s one brand that looms larger than most when it comes to the very best cameras. That brand is Hasselblad, the Swedish camera maker which is celebrating its 80th anniversary with a special limited edition camera kit.
If you’ve not come across Hasselblad before, the brand was founded in 1941 and immediately made its mark on the camera industry with the release of the HK-7. Today, Hasselblad is best known as the manufacturer of some of the best analog medium-format cameras in the world, as well as for being selected by NASA as the camera that was taken into space for the last Project Mercury missions.
To mark eight decades since the brand was founded, Hasselblad has released a special edition of the 907X mirrorless camera system, which comes complete with an optical viewfinder, XCD 3,5/30 lens and a 907X camera body with a control grip. Also included is a CFV II 50C digital back, which will seamlessly integrate with nearly all Hasselblad V System camera bodies.

The look and feel of the 907X camera body remain true to original designs from the 1950s, specifically inspired by the iconic SWC camera. It features an anodised Lunar Grey trim that matches the exterior of the lens and a black leather travel pouch, but is otherwise the same as a standard version of the camera.
The 907X Anniversary Edition Kit boasts a medium format 50MP CMOS sensor, offering up to 14 stops of dynamic range and is able to capture 16-bit RAW images and full-resolution JPEGs. It also allows for seamless linking to your computer with both wi-fi and USB-C connections, dual UHS-II SD card slots and a high-resolution 3.2-inch 2.36M dot touch and tilt screen.
The Hasselblad 907X Anniversary Edition Kit will be limited to just 800 examples, and comes with a price tag of €15,500 (AU$24,840).
