The team at Gresham Yacht Design have followed up their popular Thor Explore concept design with a new, exploration-focused effort that fuses the best of luxurious detailing and a connection with the outdoors. The Apollo superyacht concept was created directly off the back of the 2020 Thor Explore, following the request of a brokerage house for a more refined and versatile interpretation of the same limit-pushing ethos.
While the Thor Explore was billed as an exploratory vessel rated for ice-smashing arctic adventures, Apollo looks to bring the external environment closer to its passengers, with a few design decisions that amplify the surrounding natural beauty. In addition to the forward superstructure and helipad that are quintessential to ocean-exploring vessels, Apollo also boasts an enormous viewing platform that spans two stories and serves as the subtle jewel in this superyachts crown.
In total, Apollo features seven different levels as it stretches a full 90m from tip to tip, with generous lodgings for no less than 16 guests and a full staff of 40 crew. The observation deck protrudes out from each side of the superyacht, with floor-to-ceiling windows across twin levels that offer unrestricted views out across the water below and is large enough for all guests to enjoy a prime position of the view.

While the observation deck is the star of the show, Apollo also features a number of other comfortable amenities including a private lobby, office and several different deck areas to enjoy when the sun turns it on. Guests will also be able to soak in the surroundings from a pair of semi-enclosed balconies with glass balustrades, or alternatively from the jacuzzi and pool.
The Apollo might only be a concept in its current form, however, any prospective owners who love how Gresham Yacht Design has adapted Thor Explore should get in contact with the firm to discuss bringing this mighty vessel to life.
