Already being hailed as better than the original, Rian Johnson’s sequel to Knives Out – Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery – sees the return of Daniel Craig as Detective Benoit Blanc, alongside an eccentric cast of stars old and new. While critics have applauded the standout performances from Craig, Dave Bautista, Kate Hudson, Ed Norton, Janelle Monáe, and more, it’s their 151-foot floating accomplice Aquarius that got the BH office talking.
Built by Mengi Yay circa 2016, the Knives Out 2 superyacht Aquarius broke convention for the Turkish shipyard and influenced a new era of yacht design, dominated by expansive beach clubs. The palatial five-stateroom yacht served as a backdrop for one of the key scenes in Glass Onion with the real-life captain, Ali Göksoy, also scoring a cameo in the film. Nine crew aboard Aquarius can host up to 10 charter guests, with the primary bunking down in the owner’s cabin located forward on the main deck, with a king-sized bed, two private fixed balconies, an office, and a gorgeous ensuite. On the lower deck, there are three double staterooms and one twin, all with ensuites.

Some of the standout features for charter guests include the beach club with three fold-out balconies, a cinema, a dedicated gym, and a plunge pool/jacuzzi, with endless day bed options for sunbaking. She also comes with a full fleet of toys, including a Frauscher Mirage Air tender, space for an amphibious four-wheeler, and quad bike, as well as sea bobs, paddle boards, water skis, wakeboards, and snorkelling equipment.
While Mengi Yay’s focus is now predominantly steel and aluminium structures, Aquarius is built with a wooden hull, designed by the Netherlands-based Ginton Naval Architects. She’s equipped with twin Caterpillar engines that deliver a cruising speed of 12 knots and a top speed of 15 knots, with an “Eco” cruise option that gives her a range of 2,000 nautical miles.
At sub 500GT this 151-footer is the sweet spot in chartering boasting an almost 1:1 crew to guests ratio, and more space for activities than even the most demanding charter guest could utilise.
