After being first revealed at the 2019 Cannes Yachting Festival, the debut hull of the Princess Yachts Y95 flagship superyacht is ready for delivery to its new owner in Asia following the build process. Taking the hull and superstructure from the British boatbuilder’s X95 model, the new Y95 boasts a more traditional layout than its stablemate, despite both vessels sharing the same production line in Plymouth.

Measuring 29.1m in length, this latest Pininfarina and Olesinski-designed vessel from Princess Yachts differs from the X95 from the lower deck upward, boasting an open flybridge area as well as a raised pilot house and flybridge helm. With a top speed of between 22-24 knots thanks to twin MAN V12-2000 engines, the Y95 has space enough for ten guests in total across five cabins, one of which is the full beam and palatially proportioned owner’s suite.

Designed to offer “long-range cruising comfort,” the first example produced features the walnut interior finish, though prospective owners will be able to select from their choice of Rovere oak, Alba oak or Silver oak finishes to suit their taste. The main deck of this Y95 features ample seating and formal dining space, with its owner selecting the option to include patio doors that open on the starboard side.

Like any truly luxurious yacht, the Y95 features a beach club at the rear, as well as a bathing platform the height of which can be adjusted to offer either a swimming platform or steps into the sparkling ocean waters. On the flybridge, owners will be able to enjoy a relaxing L-shaped couch and informal dining space, with options to customise the area to include a spa or space to store a jetski or tender.

With the first hull only now leaving the yards in Plymouth, it’ll be interesting to see how other Princess Yachts clients will choose to fit out and customise their Y95 yachts in the future.
