Most boats are designed to keep water out and their occupants dry, however, the Spacruzzi doesn’t play by the same rules as other boats. In fact, the Spacruzzi is a floating hot tub that doubles as a modestly sized day boat, allowing you to enjoy a relaxing afternoon in spa-temperature water while enjoying the natural landscape as it unfolds around you.

Spacruzzi is an American-based company founded by entrepreneur Alex Kanwetz, who wanted to create a vessel that could deliver an on-water experience unlike any other, giving his customers the very best of luxuriating comfort without taking them away from the great outdoors. His solution was the teardrop-shaped fibreglass vessel that doubles as a jacuzzi after you fill it with water, featuring a built-in gas fireplace to keep the water around you toasty warm.

The Spacruzzi is powered by an electric motor that draws juice from a fast-charging battery pack, which is easy to swap out if you need to but is unlikely given you’ll get between four and five hours of run-time from a single battery. With room for six passengers, the Spacruzzi weighs in at around 550kg dry, a number which number jumps to more than 1,800kg once it’s filled with water.

In addition to the propane-powered wood fire complete with its own little chimney, the Spacruzzi also features a cooler compartment to ensure you’ve got icy cold drinks all day long, as well as the option to include a floating table to hold your charcuterie board. You’ll also get the option to customise your own Spacruzzi upon ordering, with a range of different options for the deck that includes synthetic teak or rubberised material, as well as your pick from several colours of caulking.

After receiving the full certification tick from the U.S. Coast Guard and approval to operate in some of the most heavily regulated lakes in the United States, the Spacruzzi is currently available for order. Spacruzzi starts at US$48,900 (AU$73,905), however, can climb higher depending on your customising selections.
