- The 2025 Kia K4 is poised to succeed the Cerato after the latter’s 20-year tenure.
- These new and improved sedans, which have drawn comparisons to the Kia Stinger’s design language, are $3,500-$6,100 more expensive than the Cerato’s base pricing.
- The K4 Hatch variant, on the other hand, is due to arrive later in 2025.
The 2025 Kia K4 is officially rolling into Aussie showrooms this month. And despite the $3,500-$6,100 price hike compared to its locally-beloved predecessor before any on-road costs, these sedans still represent an unbelievable value proposition.
Each of the Kia K4 variants — that’s the S (from $30,590), Sport (from $35,190), Sport+ (from $37,590), and GT-line (from $42,990) — come with a larger and lower body, which translates to more rear legroom than ever before; pack more advanced tech; and ride a new platform.
The K4 S, Sport, and Sport+ retain a 112kW/192Nm 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine mated to a six-speed automatic transmission; with combined fuel consumption remaining at 7.4L/100KM and a fuel tank reduced from 50 litres to 47 litres.
As for the K4 GT-Line, it houses the same 1.6-litre turbo engine as the Cerato GT it replaces, but trades a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic for an eight-speed torque-converter unit. In terms of output, you’re looking at 142kW/265Nm (down from the Cerato GT’s 150kW), with combined fuel consumption now rated at a marginally improved 6.7L/100KM.
Hybrid models are expected to fill out the K4 lineup sometime in the near future.
