As it turns out, Adrian Portelli wasn’t joking when he said he planned on craning a McLaren Senna GTR into his newly-acquired penthouse.
Melbourne locals witnessed the $3 million supercar in question being hoisted up all 57 levels to the residence crowning the Sapphire by the Gardens twin towers, where the high-performance whip will apparently serve as nothing more than an art installation.
“It’s a car that we can’t register and it’s just collecting dust so I might as well have it somewhere where it’s safe,” Portelli, an Aussie entrepreneur dubbed “Lambo Guy” thanks to a controversial appearance on reality series The Block, told media outlets on a previous occasion.
It’s a mighty bit of effort for a penthouse Portelli will supposedly be using as a weekender given he “[doesn’t] like city living.” But it’s only the beginning.

According to Real Estate, the uni dropout turned LMCT+ director is already working alongside Cox Architecture to customise the $6 million fitout, which will likely include four bedrooms, a cinema, indoor pool, multiple kitchens, and cigar bar to complete what is currently a 1,200-square-metre “blank canvas.”
Of the 325 apartments beneath the penthouse in Melbourne’s Sapphire by the Gardens, 95% have already been sold with prices starting from $1.2 million.
Adrian Portelli reportedly has a net worth of $350 million – check out the unbelievable scenes of his McLaren Senna GTR being placed in the future weekend crib via crane below.
