In light of its celebrity provenance, stunning condition, and the fact it’s only recorded 18,000 miles / 30,000 kilometres on the dash across 25 years, unsurprisingly, the classic ride fetched an eye-watering six-figure sum. US$405,993 / AU$542,300 to be precise.
Listed for sale via Bring A Trailer, based on his career timeline, Denzel Washington would’ve purchased this Porsche 911 around the same time he starred in Courage Under Fire opposite Meg Ryan, The Preacher’s Wife opposite Whitney Houston, right before he geared up for Spike Lee’s He Got Game, and a couple of years before cinching his first Academy Award for Best Actor thanks to Training Day.
Finished in black over black, the car houses a twin-turbocharged 3.6L flat-six that drives all four wheels through a six-speed manual transaxle with a limited-slip rear differential – rated at 408 horsepower and 398 lb-ft of torque.

As per the listing, equipment includes the 18″ Turbo Twist wheels, xenon headlights, fog lights, a fixed rear spoiler, power-adjustable front seats, cruise control, automatic climate control, as well as a Porsche CR-210 stereo hooked up to the Nokia Digital Sound Processing (DSP) system with a front trunk-mounted six-disc CD changer. Gotta love the 90s.
“The 18″ Turbo Twist wheels wear colour Porsche crest centre caps and are wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport N2 tires measuring 225/40 up front and 285/30 out back,” elaborates the aforementioned listing.
“The car features an Automatic Brake Differential (ABD), and the 993 was the first 911 to feature multi-link rear suspension. Braking is provided by red-finished and Porsche-branded four-piston callipers over cross-drilled rotors.”
“The seats are trimmed in black pleated leather with debossed Porsche crests in the headrests and are complemented by a colour-coordinated dashboard, console, and door panels.”
