F1 fan-favourite and former world champion Jenson Button has recently offered up his expertly restored 1970 Ford Bronco for auction. The pick-up truck might be half a century old, but with just 170 miles on the clock and its immaculate maintenance, you’d be hard-pressed to find a better-looking example on the market.

Button retired from F1 at the end of the 2015 season, and he’s remained busy in the years since. After trying his hand at Super GT Series racing and selling his McLaren P1 hypercar, he found time to become the face of clothing retailer Hacket London.

It’s his vintage Bronco that has our attention right now, however, which he recently listed for sale on the Collecting Cars auction platform. Featuring an attractive dark blue coat of paint, contrasted nicely with pops of red around the front grill, it might just be the ideal daily drive.

While it is a vintage car, Button hasn’t held back in adding a few modern touches to it, including new KC headlights, 17-inch Method alloy wheels and a set of all-terrain 35-inch BFGoodrich tires. That isn’t all, however, with the former F1 champion adding an MSD ignition kit with a push-button start, Borgeson power steering and a Kenwood stereo.

The windows have been removed, including at the rear of the cabin, making the Bronco a soft-top four-seater, perfect for warmer climates. The cream canvas canopy perfectly matches the cream leather that covers the period-correct seats, and is supported by a half roll cage.

Powering this dark blue beast is a naturally aspirated 4.9-litre small-block Bronco V-8, which boasts 300hp and a three-speed automatic gearbox. The engine also features a small upgrade to it, in the Fitech fuel injection system to offer a little extra kick to this elegant equine.

With just 170 miles on the odometer and some pretty special motorsports provenance from Jenson Button, there has already been strong interest in this Bronco. At the time of writing, the leading bid is US$90,000 (AU$125,000), with the auction scheduled to wrap up this Friday (January 21st).
