Perhaps the most underrated of all performance vehicles is the family-focused sleeper – non more so than the sedate BMW M5 CS super sedan. If you were privileged enough to get your hands on one of the 20 units coming to Australia – priced at $305,900 driveaway – you might just be bonkers enough to send it over to the crew at MANHART for a wee spruce-up.
Somehow, gobbling up the autobahn with a 4.4-litre twin-turbocharged V8, producing 467kW and 750Nm of torque, wasn’t sufficient for the German tuners, who have taken the BMW M5 CS to a staggering 587kW and 935Nm with their MH5 GTR performance upgrade.
The MANHART MH5 GTR features a turbo-upgrade, which combined with a new MANHART exhaust system with carbon air intake, OPF & CAT-Delete, gearbox-upgrade, and an ECU-remap, increases power by a whopping 120kW and almost 200Nm. The stainless steel rear muffler with valve control – optioned with 4 x 100mm carbon or ceramic sheathed tailpipes – promises an otherworldly soundtrack from the sonorous V8.

Sitting on larger 21″ MANHART Concave One rims in black or gunmetal grey, the whole package is lowered 30mm from stock with a height adjustable spring kit by KW, with brakes left stock unless individually tuned upon request of the customer.
Lashings of carbon parts adorn the body with a carbon fibre bonnet, front splitter, rear diffuser, and spoiler which complement the vehicle’s performance, and aggressive stance. Inside, the MH5 GTR retains its leather and Alcantara trim while carbon door skirts match custom MANHART floor mats.
MANHART hasn’t reported numbers but given the stock vehicle claims a 0-100km/h sprint time of 3.0 seconds, towards a top speed of 305km/h, you can assume some change from 3 seconds. Expect to pay circa €50,000 for the pleasure.
