We’ve all had those moments in our car from time to time. Whether it be some lift-off oversteer, washout understeer, or maybe you simply gave it the beans and didn’t realise how much power was at your disposal. Whatever the case, these moments are rarely a good time. But whereas us commoners usually encounter these scares in run-of-the-mill machinery, being caught on camera while piloting a $25 million dollar Pagani Zonda HP Barchetta is peak motoring embarrassment.
The Pagani hypercar is one of only three in the world and (was) part of the exclusive “Supercar Owner’s Circle,” which is currently touring Croatia. In a video captured by Benelux Supercars, the Zonda seems to break traction with the rear of the hypercar stepping out into the path of a Ford Fiesta. Neither of the drivers were injured, but both cars suffered considerable damage.

The carbon-fibre Pagani has destroyed its left side, with the rear-left wheel and suspension components completely severed from the rest of the car. While the Ford Fiesta had its airbag deployed with damage to the front quarter and passenger door.
Under normal circumstances, you’d assume both cars would be written off. Due to the Zonda’s rarity and Pagani’s new “Rinascimento” restoration program, we’ll likely see one of the most extensive (and expensive) repair jobs we’ve ever seen. Hopefully the Zonda’s owner sees fit to look after the Fiesta with such engagement.
