There’s something about grainy CCTV footage of a roadway that warms the heart because you know you’re in for a visual feast of wild proportions. That’s exactly what we find here with a Belgian and Dutchman holidaymaker, who recently launched their Ferraris into the stratosphere after misjudging a corner in Italy.
If you thought the footage of YouTuber Alex Choi sending his Tesla Model S into orbit was spectacularly unintelligent, then this takes it to another level. Especially when you consider the bill they’ll be forced to pay.
The two drivers were behind the wheels of their respective Ferrari 296 GTB and Ferrari F12 Berlinetta when they approached a bend in the road far too quickly, losing control, and sliding across a nature strip, before hitting a mound of earth that provided the perfect platform to send them airborne (and into a garden fence).
While both drivers were sent to the hospital local Doric hospital in Torrette, fortunately, neither suffered any serious injuries. Although the same can’t be said for the two Ferraris, one of which was almost certainly completely destroyed after catching fire in a significant blaze that required firefighters from the Osimo detachment.
