In what’s been one of the worst-kept secrets in the motoring world, the 2024 Ford Mustang Mach-E has finally been revealed and is confirmed to be destined to arrive on Australian shores. As the first all-electric vehicle from the American car manufacturer, it made its global debut in the US a few years ago but the 2024 edition is set to become the visit to be widely available Down Under.

The new Ford EV will arrive in three different variants to select from, including the rear-wheel-drive Select and Premium, editions, as well as the range-topping all-wheel-drive GT. The Select features a single motor capable of putting out 198kW/430Nm of power and draws from a 71kWh battery that promises 470km of range, while the Premium steps things up with its 216kW/430Nm motor and larger battery of 91kWh battery for 600km of range.

The top-of-the-line GT features the same 91kWh battery as the Premium, but serves up significantly more juice from its dual electric motors, delivering 358kW and 860Nm to all four wheels. This extra power comes at the cost of range, dropping down to 490km, but you’ll have more fun behind the wheel thanks to its 3.7-second sprint time.

All three variants within the 2024 Ford Mustang Mach-E lin-up arrive standard with a 15.5-inch portrait-oriented infotainment screen and a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster for the driver, as well as a quality 10-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system. You’ll also get wireless smartphone charging and a panoramic sunroof.

Preorders for the 2024 Ford Mustang Mach-E are expected to arrive soon ahead of cars arriving on showroom floors between October and December 2023, with prices ranging from $75,000 to $117,000 before on-road costs.
