You Can Now Reserve The Polestar 6 Roadster

— 19 August 2022

When Swedish outfit, Polestar, first released its electric roadster concept, the internet went a little bit silly. It seemed to take all of parent-company Volvo’s intuitive design cues while opting to be more aggressive and abstract. But as excited as many were, the fact it was merely a concept quelled the hype a little, as crowds these days (rightly) demand eye candy they can actually acquire.

Well, as of today, dear readers, Polestar has confirmed the production of a roadster under the official title of the “Polestar 6.” And while production won’t start until 2026, keen customers can reserve a car as of now.

Polestar CEO, Thomas Ingenlath announced: “With the overwhelming consumer and press response, we took the decision to put this stunning roadster into production and I am so excited to make it a reality. Polestar 6 is a perfect combination of powerful electric performance and the thrill of fresh air with the top down.”

The hard-top Polestar 6 roadster will be built from bespoke bonded aluminium and will feature the high-performance, 800-volt electric architecture already assigned for the Polestar 5. Output figures of up to 650 kW (884 hp) and 900 Nm from dual motors will equate to a targeted 3.2 second 0-100 km/h time and a top speed of 250 km/h.

500 numbered Polestar 6 LA Concept editions will be the first that customers can get their hands on (via US$25,000 deposit) — featuring a unique Sky blue exterior, light leather interior, and special 21-inch wheels from the original Polestar Oâ‚‚ concept.

Let the waiting game begin.
