We never thought we’d ever see an entire roster of Honda’s best creations specced with a gold wrap, let alone find them in the Australian outback for a blinding summer photoshoot. Here we have Honda’s coveted hybrid supercar, the NSX, alongside the divisive Civic Type-R hatchback as far from their natural habitat as possible.
The full roll call can be found below, which includes the HRU19 Buffalo lawnmower (have you ever seen a gold lawnmower?) alongside the CRF50F pee-wee dirt bike.
NSX hybrid supercar
Civic Type R high-performance hot hatch
CBR1000RR Fireblade motorcycle from the Supersport range
CRF450L next-generation motorcycle from the Enduro range
CRF50F Kids Fun bike, Honda’s best-selling off-road machine>
HRU19 Buffalo Premium lawnmower, proudly designed and assembled here in Australia
EU22i Generator, the world’s best-selling Super Quiet, leisure generator
And why exactly has this comical ensemble come about? Honda Australia Managing Director & CEO, Hiroyuki Shimizu simply stated, “We thought about how we could celebrate our birthday and our unique diversity in a bold and fun way. I mean, who has ever seen a golden mower or generator before?”
Fair point. Each example is branded with 50th Anniversary decals and are all one-off examples.
