The first snaps of Australian billionaire James Packer’s new $200 million yacht have surfaced during its construction in Italy.
Not exactly your weekend tinnie, the 107-metre Benetti rolled out of its shipyard warehouse in Livorno this week. Previously codenamed FB 277, the yacht will be the largest private vessel of its type built by Benetti in the world.
When it becomes ready for sailing with Packer aboard in June next year, the boat will assume the name IJE – the first initials of Packer’s children: Indigo, Jackson and Emmanuelle.
The vessel will have a top speed of 18.5 knots and a cruising speed of 16 knots.
