Lamborghini’s latest road-legal fighter jet, the Aventador SVJ, knocked the Porsche GT2 RS off the top spot at the Nürburgring last month despite still being under the usual pre-reveal cloak and dagger camouflage.
Over the weekend ahead of the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance at Monterey Car Week the V12 Italian thoroughbred was unveiled to the crowds in all its dramatic glory. Only 900 examples of the most powerful production V12 from the brand are set to be built, with an ultra-rare ‘SVJ 63’ special edition to be announced in the flesh later this week.
“The challenge to Lamborghini designers and engineers was to improve the purest essence of the Lamborghini super sports car, drawing on every inspiration from a spaceship to a jet fighter: all the most exceptional examples of super-fast, super-athletic, aerodynamic superiority,” quoted Automobili Lamborghini Chairman and CEO, Stefano Domenicali,
The Lamborghini Aventador SVJ start at $517,000 USD, we’ll bring you local pricing and release details soon.
