Buckle up for our ‘Lunch Run’ series, where we talk cars, food, and a healthy serving of smack.
Capping off a bountiful year of tasty wheels and even tastier feeds, we wrap this year’s Lunch Run season with one convertible to rule them all, Bentley’s Continental GTC Speed.
The absolute pinnacle of Bentley’s 12-cylinder engineering and an open-top roadster for the ages, this $756,000 daily driver is about as good as it gets from the British marque. The perks of opting for the W12 over the V8 version include a suite of features that make this car one delightful place to be – Bentley Dynamic Ride and all-wheel steering being the notable standouts.
For a cracking Sydney spring day we opted to venture over the bridge and back through the tunnel to Johnny Bird. We didn’t feel like starting the week with a burger, despite the menu looking incredibly enticing, so we opted for a BBQ chicken salad and a side of chips to fill in the gap.
The salad itself was a delightful combination and the raisins, pomegranate and chickpeas were an unexpected but welcomed addition. John and James used the pickup function to skip the wait and maximise time in the GTC Speed.
If you’re keen to read more about the Speed offering, including the beefy Bentley Bentayga and GT Speed coupe, head to this article from John’s time at The Bend racetrack in Adelaide last month. It’s a tough life, but someone’s got to do it.
