Buckle up for the next instalment of our ‘Lunch Run’ video series, where we talk cars, food and a healthy serving of smack.
In a world becoming dominated by smaller engines and turbochargers, Jaguar Land Rover’s commitment to offering a behemoth 5.0L supercharged V8 is inspirational. We’ve gotten to know it quite well, with John spending time in the Jaguar F-Type SVR and myself in the F-Pace SVR. We’ve now rounded out a trio from the Special Vehicle Operations department with a week behind the wheel of the Range Rover Sport SVR.
With an exhaust note to shift tectonic plates and turn pedestrians into drooling onlookers, a stylish design, and an optional $15,000 exposed carbon fibre pack, the Rangie impressed day after day. At $238,000 before options and on-road costs, a glance at its competition is warranted, but we couldn’t help being drawn back to the SVR and its combination of opulence, powerhouse performance and good looks.
This week, Wade and Josh take the quickest ever Land Rover to Brisbane’s The Yiros Shop. Producing a good Yiros is a fine and delicate art. The Yiros Shop has perfected the mix of quality meat, balanced chips, light pita and the magic in between, altogether wrapping up a recipe fit for the Greek gods.
