There’s MJ memorabilia… and then there’s MJ memorabilia. Fork out cash for all the game-used sneakers you want. But game-used sneakers are small potatoes in the face of Michael Jordan’s 1996 Mercedes-Benz S600 (as featured in The Last Dance).

“Some people have signed basketballs or sneakers or photographs of the basketball giant – but how many people do you know own Michael Jordan’s car?” says Alex Manos, Beverly Hills Car Club owner.

“[The] S600 is such an elegant vehicle that driving it will get you in touch with your inner Michael Jordan, stepping into his world, feeling his energy and power.”

True to form, His Airness had the S600 tuned for maximum performance by Lorinser: boosted V12 engine capable of generating almost 400 horsepower, custom body kit, custom rims; adding to the entire novelty of this purchase, the car phone in the dashboard also displays Jordan’s name when powered up. A minor detail, sure, but a pretty damn cool one nonetheless.

“This is the Holy Grail of Michael Jordan memorabilia.”

As you will have spotted in the gallery above, there’s 157,085 miles on the dash. Meaning you probably won’t be revving this bad boy up for a weekend road trip from Sydney to Byron Bay.

Currently being handled by Beverly Hills Car Club, bidding for the motorised chariot opened at just US$23. Though I wouldn’t get your hopes up – as to be expected, the price tag for Michael Jordan’s 1996 Mercedes-Benz has since climbed all the way up to US$160,200.

Bidding officially closes on August the 23rd via eBay.
