The Range Rover Velar is a beautiful car. Put simply, it has the sleekest and most commanding road presence of any SUV we’ve driven this past year or so. While the D300 engine variant was our hot favourite for some punchy dynamic driving, to say we were excited when we found out a supercharged V8 was on its way would be an understatement.
The Velar SVAutobiography Dynamic Edition we have here punches out an admirable 550 horsepower fed by larger air intakes from a redesigned front bumper. On paper, buyers will also cop a potent 680Nm of torque and a 0-100 time of 4.5 seconds that’ll be vocalised by a variable active exhaust.
Speaking of, the quad exhausts lend the voluptuous rear end a raunchy feel and the optional 22-inch rims with a unique silver sparkle finish and diamond-turned edging go unbelievably well with the red brake callipers.
Inside, the perforated and quilted Windsor leather is a favourite of ours and the Special Vehicle steering wheel unique to the SVAutobiography takes the interior performance cues up a notch. This bad boy is looking like one hell of a mean spaceship.
