The Australian Open prize money pool might be the smallest of all four big tennis Grand Slams, but it’s still getting bigger every year, and 2025 is no exception. In line with the $10 million raise over the past two years, the total prize pool being offered to athletes competing in AO 2025 now comes to $96.5 million — an 11.5% increase over last year.

While the singles champions will be more than happy getting to take home $3.5 million, up 11%, similar increases are to be had by first-round qualifiers (12%); first-round doubles teams (11%); players reaching the second round (11%); and semifinalists (11%).

As you’d expect, the additional $10 million in this year’s prize pool has been distributed relatively evenly between rounds, with increases noted across the entire competition.

The most impressive figure, however, is how much the total Australian Open prize money has increased to in 2025. Since 2016, prize money has increased 119% from $44 million, while there’s been a 36% increase since 2021 when the Australian Open paid out $71 million.
