If you were waiting for Red Bull Racing’s recent run of pure domination to end, there’s bad news: the team has just renewed their contract with one of history’s greatest Formula 1 engineers (perhaps the greatest, in fact) slash Chief Technical Officer Adrian Newey.
Earlier this year, there was speculation surrounding where the grid veteran of 25 years/seasons would ultimately land. This week, we’ve been offered solid confirmation by a spokesperson who stated while details of said contract won’t be divulged at this stage, Newey will remain with Red Bull “for many years to come” (via ESPN).
As Chief Technical Officer, Adrian Newey not only oversees the Formula 1 team, but also its Powertrain division and Advanced Technology business.

To date, beyond his stint at Red Bull alone, Newey’s road rockets have won a whopping total of:
- 197 Grands Prix (as of the 2023 Azerbaijan Grand Prix)
- 11 Constructors’ Championships with three different teams
(Williams, McLaren, Red Bull Racing) - 12 Driver’s Championships for seven different drivers
(Nigel Mansell – 1992, Alain Prost – 1993, Damon Hill – 1996, Jacques Villeneuve – 1997, Mika Hakkinen – 1998 | 1999, Sebastian Vettel – 2010 | 2011| 2012 | 2013, Max Verstappen – 2021 | 2022) - And God knows how many career points
In light of the fact Red Bull Racing has won all four races in the 2023 season with two-time reigning grid king Max Verstappen (93) leading the driver’s standings, followed closely by Sergio “Checo” Perez (87), safe to say, Adrian Newey will definitely be adding plenty more to the win tally.
