LIV Golf has, at long last, secured the television deal it had been seeking for the past however many months, opting to partner with the CW Network of all entities. The same CW Network behind such teen drama hits as Gilmore Girls, One Tree Hill, Smallville, Supernatural, Veronica Mars, Gossip Girl, Riverdale the Arrowverse, and oh so much more.
This development, of course, represents CW’s first foray into sports broadcasting and promises to bring the $2 billion Saudi-backed rebel league’s tournaments to an estimated 120 million households all across the US alone.
“This is a momentous day for LIV Golf as this partnership is about more than just media rights. The CW will provide accessibility for our fans and maximum exposure for our athletes and partners,” said LIV Golf CEO & Commissioner Greg Norman.
“We’re very proud to note how consequential it is that a league that has only existed for one year has secured a full broadcast deal in its debut full league season.”

At this stage, however, the LIV Golf-CW Network agreement is still shrouded in a lot of mystery. We don’t know a single detail about the financial specifics, how long we can expect coverage, and so forth. All that’s certain is:
- The CW will air 14 global events in 2023; in addition to streaming said events via The CW App
- You can kiss the commercial and subscription-free access on YouTube goodbye
- And according to Golf.com, LIV Golf will not be paying the CW Network a cent to broadcast its global events — which really raises more questions than it answers
Clearly, someone over at CW believes the future is LIV.
