If Netflix and ESPN were ever going to attempt a consolidation of Michael Jordan’s life both on and off the court, it seems appropriate that said documentary wouldn’t be less than a 10-part, 10-hour long series.
“The Last Dance” is apparently backed by snippets from over 500 hours of never before seen footage of the GOAT, beginning from when he was cut from his varsity high school team as a sophomore to becoming the greatest player of our time.
Before the unstoppable Bulls era, which saw Jordan take the NBA to a worldwide cultural icon, his rise to prominence began after he was named National College Player of the Year at North Carolina.
The man went on to be selected as the number 3 overall pick in the 1984 NBA draft by the Bulls. His accolades over time included no less than 14 All-Star awards, 10-time scoring champion, 5-time regular season MVP, six-time NBA Champion, and six-time NBA finals MVP.
The No. 23 is now the principal owner of the Charlotte Hornets and is profiting heavily through his business ventures with the iconic Air Jordan brand. His net worth jumped to a staggering $1.65 Billion USD in 2018, up an impressive $350 million in a single year.
Jordan is said to be onboard with the 30 for 30 project, which is slated for a Netflix release in 2019.
