Yet another Michael Jordan documentary is reportedly in the works, this one about the NBA legend’s closing two-season stint with the Washington Wizards.
To characterise the details surrounding the currently untitled project as “sparse” would be generous. All we have at this stage is the confirmation of its existence/progress, recently tweeted by senior journalist at Hoops Wire Sam Amico.
“Happy I’m old enough to have been asked to help with the documentary on Michael Jordan… with the Wizards. Details soon,” revealed Amico.

In light of the cultural impact ESPN and Netflix’s The Last Dance had upon the world – which chronicled His Airness’ rise to prominence with the Chicago Bulls and remarkable double three-peat championship runs – you can understand why there’s so much hype surrounding the mere prospect of a spiritual follow-up. Even if the “sequel” does involve a chapter of his insanely decorated career most die-hard Jordan fans would rather forget.
In his final two years as an NBA player, while the six-time champion still was an All-Star twice over, he only averaged 21.2 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 4.4 assists.
The Last Dance, on the other hand, took home the gold for the Outstanding Documentary or Non-Fiction Series at the 72nd Primetime Emmy Awards (2020).
