Maybe a handful of times a year do we see outrageous swells hammer the Australian East Coast worthy of a snap. The scenes this week, however, were once in a generation.
Manly’s infamous Deadman’s was the site where most of the carnage occurred, with one particular wave on Wednesday blowing up social media feeds around the world.
A bloke by the name of Chris Lougher dropped into the wave of the day, which was amazingly caught on video by filmmaker Spencer Frost from over a kilometre away on Queenscliff headland with a 1600mm lens.
“This was hands down the best wave I’ve ever seen ridden in Sydney,” says Spencer Frost.
