Elon Musk has added yet another chapter to his well-documented history of challenging high profile names in a “cage fight” by calling out fellow tech billionaire and MMA hobbyist Mark Zuckerberg.
Shortly after the gauntlet was thrown down, Zucc (39) — who joins the rarefied company of Hollywood actor Johnny Depp and Russian President Vladimir Putin — replied by posting a screenshot of Musk’s tweet with the caption “send me location” a la Khabib Nurmagomedov.
In turn, Musk (51) replied with “Vegas Octagon,” later elaborating by tweeting: “I have this great move that I call ‘The Walrus,’ where I just lie on top of my opponent & do nothing.”

“The story speaks for itself,” a Meta spokesperson told the BBC.
While it seems like nothing more than two bored rich guys flapping gums at each other from across the road, UFC President Dana White, who is actually a friend to Zuckerberg, maintains both parties are legitimately keen.
“I was talking to both Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg last night, both guys are absolutely dead serious about this,” Dana White revealed to TMZ (via BJPenn.com).
“They both said, ‘Yeah we’ll do it.’ They both want to do it. Mark Zuckerberg hit me up first and said. ‘Is he serious?’ I said, ‘I don’t know, let me ask him,’ and I asked him, and he said, ‘Yeah, I’m dead serious.’”
Mark Zuckerberg has (in our minds) opened as the overwhelming betting favourite. In fact, I’ll go so far as to say it wouldn’t even be remotely competitive.
In the years since the pandemic kicked off, the man has been training under Dave Camarillo at Guerrilla Jiu-Jitsu — having recently captured gold in his first Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournament — and rolled with the likes of four-time BJJ world champion (coloured belts), five-time IBJJF black belt world champion, and reigning ONE flyweight submission grappling king Mikey Musumeci.
In terms of striking, Zucc regularly trains alongside pro fighter Khai “The Shadow” Wu; and even logged a sparring session against Aussie UFC featherweight champion + former pound-for-pound king Alexander Volkanovski late last year, famously hosted partially in the metaverse.
Elon Musk, on the other hand, is built like a deep breath.

Dana White added: “This would be the biggest fight ever in the history of the world. Bigger than anything that has ever been done. It would break all pay-per-view records, these guys would raise hundreds of millions of dollars for charity. You don’t have to be a fight fan to be interested in this fight. Everybody would want to see it.”
“If these guys are serious, I make fights that people want to see, that is what I do for a living. If they really want to do it and they are serious and we can figure out a way to pull it off, I would absolutely, positively do this.”
“The biggest fight of all time was [Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor], I just think it triples that, I think it triples what that did, there’s no limit on what that thing can make.”
What an interesting week to be a billionaire.
