One of the world’s biggest sporting events — and practically America’s second-favourite religious holiday — is almost upon us for another year. And in 2025, Super Bowl LIX promises to be as bombastic as ever (even here in Australia).

The big dance will see two-time defending Super Bowl champions, Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs (15-2), face off against the Philadelphia Eagles (14-3) — running it back two short years after their last meeting at Super Bowl LVII, wherein the Chiefs secured a 38-35 victory via field goal with just eight seconds left on the clock.

As always, there’s plenty on the line here. For the Andy Reid-coached Chiefs, it could potentially mean a fourth championship within five years, elevating the Mahomes dynasty to frustrating new heights. For Nick Sirianni’s Eagles, aside from the franchise’s first title since 2017, there’s a prime opportunity for revenge.

Here’s what you need to know about catching Super Bowl LIX in Australia.

What time does Super Bowl LIX start in Australia?

In Australia, the pre-match broadcast kicks off on Monday, February 10th at 9:30 AM (AEDT), while the actual kick-off is scheduled to occur at 10:30 AM (AEDT).

This year, the Super Bowl will be played at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, with Kendrick Lamar and SZA set to take centre stage for the perennially-anticipated Super Bowl Half-Time Show (plus additional musical acts on the docket).

Grammy-winning artist Jon Batiste is also on board to perform the US national anthem.

As for the “how” in this Aussie how and where guide to Super Bowl LIX, read on.

Where can you stream Super Bowl LIX?

For those of you who can’t get the time off work — or simply prefer the comfort of home for that viewing party — you’ll be happy to hear there are plenty of options.

Given Channel 7 (along with its offshoots 7Mate and 7Plus) will be providing traditional broadcast coverage, you’ll be able to watch Super Bowl LVIII free of charge here in Australia via the 7Plus app.

As with most major sporting events, both live and on-demand coverage will be available to local NFL fans through the Kayo and ESPN apps (along with regular old ESPN). A Kayo One subscription will set you back $25 per month (7-day free trial available).

And anybody who subscribes to DAZN with NFL Game Pass will also be able to tune in anywhere they can get an internet connection. Unfortunately, this excludes the free tier of Game Pass.
