New York-based heavyweight fashion brand Aimé Leon Dore has officially launched its very first collection of sunglasses, right as the sun retreats for winter here in this particular hemisphere. You will, however, be set for the next autumn/summer season.
Made in Japan and reportedly crafted to last, the Aimé Leon Dore Gallo numbers sport a squared-off, wayfarer-style design along with polarized lenses. The shades are completed by a gold foil logo at the interior temple and five barrel hinges. In terms of material, you’re looking at 100% acetate and “intricately finished core wire detailing.”

Aimé Leon Dore founder Teddy Santis has recently been named the Creative Director of New Balance, more specifically, of its MADE in USA line. The announcement was first leaked via social media, although it hardly came as a surprise.
Santis has been a frequent collaborator with the sportswear brand, most notably for bold new iterations of classic silhouettes like the 827, 997, 990v2, and 900v5. He’ll commence his new role with New Balance next year.
Aimé Leon Dore sunglasses will be available in three colourways – black, green, tortoise shell – to begin with for $365. Each pair will arrive in a branded box with a leather storage case.
