Montreal-based norda has gained a legion of followers with its premium performance running shoes and apparel, but for the first time this week, the brand has expanded into the competitive world of everyday carry.

Introducing the norda Toolbox Duffel Bag, which boasts 70 litres of capacity — and a body constructed entirely from the strongest (and most lightweight) fibre currently available.

Bio-Dyneema, the fibre in question that’s crafted from pulp and timber industry waste, is 15 times stronger than steel of the same weight; while also being cut, abrasion, chemical, and UV resistant. It’s so robust, in fact, that norda actually encourages customers to “use without caution.”

Not only is the norda Toolbox Duffel Bag approaching bulletproof status… it’s also incredibly functional with removable shoulder straps, a breathable interior lining, and plenty of internal mesh pockets. Essentially, it’s designed to store wet, muddy shoes and running clothes without them getting mouldy or waterlogged.

The duffel bag arrives in a minimalist white-and-black colour scheme, which looks like it was chosen for the way a patina character could develop over time. This release marks the second occasion norda have used Dyneema fibre outside of footwear, following their 2022 collaboration with CIOMORO on a limited-edition waterproof jacket.

Unsurprisingly, this doesn’t come cheap. The norda Toolbox Duffel Bag can now be purchased from the brand’s online store with an Australian RRP of $995. You get what you pay for, I suppose.
